Support to Almondsbury Social Club

All parents and spectators are requested to provide their support to the Almondsbury Social Club following matches/training.

We are not necessarily requesting that you spend all evening/afternoon there, although that would be welcomed(!) but even a quick "soft" drink or two will contribute to the continued success and viability of this excellent facility that we are lucky to have.

Teams playing at Scott Park could always pop back for a quick post-match social get together.

The support of  parents and specators will therefore be highlighy valued and will enable you to get the most out of your membership!!

Goalkeeper & Outfield Players Required

AYFC Under 9s (Yr 4) for Season 2010/11 require a Goalkeeper and outfield players to compliment their improving squad.

RESPECT
In order to comply with Hanham Minor League requirements, it will be necessary to adhere to the “RESPECT” procedures for junior football. This requires;
i. RESPECT barrier to be used for all matches.
ii. All parents and supporters to stay behind barrier.
iii. Coaches and substitutes to stay on opposite side of pitch.
iv. NO parents/supporters behind either goal.
Your co-operation in complying with these requirements will be appreciated for the remaining part of this season.

Player Selection & Availability
We are now beginning to get a motivated and enthusiastic squad of improving players together. You will also be aware that Mark and I are trying to develop player’s skills, ability, confidence and awareness whilst also preparing for the Hanham Minor League next season.

With the numbers in the squad at present, it will be impossible to guarantee a player a game every match week. Whilst having lots of substitutes has been considered, I have found this option results with me managing the substitutes rather than focussing on the important issues on the pitch.

I therefore plan to “rotate” players between games on a “stand-by” basis. The “stand-by” system is required to cover any potential late notice absence due to illness or injury. This system will be managed to ensure a balance of continuing to be competitive against our opponents, whist also considering players’ development needs. The general rule will be that if your child misses a game due to excessive numbers, they will feature in the next fixture.

I hope you appreciate the need to strike a balance?
